My journey into Yoga and Ayurveda began in the mid 80’s after experiencing severe symptoms of burn-out and addiction. During this time I was involved in an owner/partnership in a very successful and profitable chic interior design company in Germany. It was a very fun, materialistic, fast paced, and exciting lifestyle, – which left me burnt-out and asking myself, “Is there something more to life?” This in turn led me to a healing and awakening I never expected.
I completely left my business life behind and moved to India, with the intention of studying Yoga philosophy, doing social work and experiencing a simplistic lifestyle.
After a year of immersing myself deeply in a simple yogic lifestyle I fell critically ill. Having tried western medical treatments to no avail, I grew weaker as the days passed.
An Indian friend of mine knew of a wise elder Ayurvedic Physician (Vaidya) and summoned him to me. He examined me using methods that were very foreign to me, and then prepared herbal medicines using ancient alchemistic processes. After just one day of taking these herbal medicines, my pain was gone! Under his care I experienced a complete recovery!
After this profound experience, it ignited my fire to learn more about Ayurveda. I was blessed to find extraordinary teachers on my path such as A.G.Mohan and Indra Mohan who trained me as one of their first western students. I also spent many hours of hands-on-experience leading to years of service in Ayurvedic clinics. My years in India awakened in me a deep feeling of love and dedication about the journey of Yoga and Ayurveda. It forever changed my outlook on health, healing, and really getting to know myself.
Over the past 28 years I have continued to practice Ayurveda and Yoga in my private life, as well as sharing my passion and knowledge professionally with others worldwide.
Presently, I am living in South California, and draw more than ever upon the profound wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga, which helps in balancing my lifestyle, and guiding and serving my clients through a unique process.
I am also a single mother who is dedicated to raising my two amazing boys, Noah and Bodhi.
I am extremely grateful for the extraordinary teachers that have touched my life, among them: Dr.Vasant Lad, A.G. Mohan, Indra Mohan, Dr. Nedungadi V. Haridas, Dr. K.Radhakrishnan, Arun Deva, Gary Kraftsow, Prashanti de Jager, Dr.Svoboda, Dr.Claudia Welsh, the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in South India, my family, my friends, my clients and life!
